Laura Lee Wilson, 58 year old Etna resident, passed away peacefully into the Lord’s care after a long battle with cancer at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford on February 14, 2010.


Laura was born in Yreka California on May 5, 1951 to Gerald and Moreen Williams. Laura attended elementaryand Yreka High School before going on to Merit Davis Business College near Cave Junction Oregon. Laura met her husband Wes Wilson in Yreka California and were married shortly after on October 7, 1972 at the Berean Church in Etna, CA, where they lived. They celebrated their 37th Anniversary on October 7, 2009. Laura Wilson

The service will be officiated by Pastor Sam Alexander. Inurnment will be in Etna Cemetery.Girdner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Laura Wilson



She worked part time for various small businesses within the community while devoting herself to making a loving and comfortable home for her family. Most recently she worked for the Etna Shell Station where she served for 12 years until 2007. Laura was a member of the Scott Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Greenview, CA and was actively involved in many of the church events. She loved new babies, geology long walks, feeding wild birds, painting, photography, wild flowers, baking breads and candies, and caring for her kidsand family. Laura especially enjoyed going for rides in hot airballoons.


She is survived by her husband, Wes Wilson, her sister, Debbie Franco, as well as her daughter Sherry Lynn Wilson, her son Jacob Wilson and daughter-in-law Tami Wilson, her daughter Sarah Kirkpatrick, son-in-law
Keith Kirkpatrick,
her son David Wilson, and
10 grand children.
